IUD means intra-uterine device. It’s a little piece of plastic that sits inside your uterus to prevent pregnancy. There are 2 kinds: with hormones and without. Both kinds work in different ways. They are a really great “forget about it” method. Once you get one, you don’t have to think about it until it’s time to take it out (anywhere from 3 to 10 years) And because it works without you having to remember to do anything, it’s one of the best ways to not get pregnant. It’s super private too – the only people who will know you have one will be you and the person who put it in. Learn how they get put in here.
